Wood comes back to life

We have been working on restoring our ancient woodland. This is a long, slow job, but each year we see more spring flowers which gives us hope and inspiration. It is amazing to think that the seeds have lain in the ground for decades waiting for the right conditions to germinate. We probably won't see the full benefits in our lifetime, but it makes our time as custodians of the farm special to think that we are making a difference. Check out the photos.

Well the warm weather has got the wheat growing in the fields, the daffodils are in bloom on the drive and the birds are all busy pairing up on the farm.

The Foxgloves are in flower and we also have a myriad of other woodland flowers too!

The woods are alive with flowers this spring - yellow anenome ranunculoides to be precise - it is a real treat to walk among the flora and listen to the birds singing in the trees! The bluebells are just a few weeks away!
